An Indian Summer Soiree

It’s hard to believe we are already into August bringing it’s blazing hot sun and oh so lovely humidity . Very soon I will be seeing many of my Fall 2011 clients to review their decor and set up samples of what their centerpieces, tablescapes and bouquets will look like. We’ll finalize color schemes, look at the flowers that are in season and dream up fabulous looks for my absolute favorite wedding season. Fall is a magical season in the NY metropolitan area and has steadily grown in popularity becoming one of the busiest times of the entire year. It starts with Indian Summer when the humidity leaves the air, the sun casts an almost ethereal glow onto everything it’s rays seem to touch and that subtle sound of rustling leaves starts to travel through the air.  It’s a time of year when I often bridge the hot pops of summer colors like orange and yellow with deeper Fall tones such as green and burgundy. Textured tropical flowers like protea combined with orchids, calla lilies , berries, and leaves are a great way to capture this beautiful time of year when our hearts are still clinging to endless summer days but our cool, crisp evenings let us know that Fall right around the corner!

  1. When I get married again, I know who I’m going to! Maybe I’ll start planning my vow renewal for the next Indian summer…
