Sleepy Hollow Country Club

Pagano & Zangrilli Wedding by Ali Barone Events

7.13.13

You can always tell when two people are truly in love.  It’s often in the way they can glance, smile and laugh with one another like no one else is in the room. Our couple, Matt and Marisa Zangrilli, did just that many times throughout their wedding day, giving us all a glimpse of  their true love and friendship at the Sleepy Hollow Country Club.

The day began with an exciting and fabulous hair and makeup session from Jody Iacovelli and his assistant Michael along with Lindsey and Holly from Face Time Beauty.  Marisa’s look finally came together as her veil was placed and her last layer of lipstick was reapplied before the ceremony—a stunning image. With Matt patiently waiting at the Church of Immaculate Conception down the road from the club, Marisa entered a classic Rolls Royce with her father and away they went.

As the ceremony came to an end, the ABE staff meticulously prepared for the cocktail hour and the evening festivities back at the club before the guests’ arrival. With Ali Barone’s luxurious vision, design  and artful direction the rooms were filled with lush, muted flowers and opulent touches of crystal, satin and glimmering mercury glass throughout. Marisa and Matt’s dream wedding  truly came to life. But, the party really started as the couple made their entrance for the first time as husband and wife!

The evening took off as the music, provided by Hank Lane (the Howard Taylor Band), filled the halls and dance floor of the Sleepy Hollow Country Club. Thankfully, Robert Wagner, the talented photographer of the night, caught every minute!

Ali Barone Events truly enjoyed collaborating with all the amazing people involved in the

production process. It was a combination of the gorgeous location, the party atmosphere and the sheer, honest love of family and friends that was echoing throughout the rooms of the club that night that made this wedding most endearing and unforgettable. The theme was romantic and luxurious but, there was clearly something more to it—lots and lots of LOVE.

The Palm House at Brooklyn Botanical Gardens

Miller & Bloomgarden Wedding by Ali Barone Events

6.29.13

The sun was out with not a cloud in the sky, a perfect day for a wedding. Our wonderful couple, Lauren and Zach, stood side by side all day through their photographs, to the chuppah and even as they shared their delicious treat at the end of the night—a true sign of their love and devotion.

The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens served as a beautiful background for their ceremony in “the meadows,” giving a secret garden feel. It was a magical moment when it all came together, from Pedestals floral décor to Laurens graceful walk down the aisle. It truly was a sight to see and photographer, Shari of Brett Matthews photography and her brilliant team, captured every moment.

We also loved how Lacey, the family dog, got to walk down the aisle as flower girl, too cute!As the heartfelt ceremony came to an end, the ABE team dried their eyes and prepared for the rest of the evening’s festivities.  Luckily, as the sun went down so did the temperature and everyone was finally able to cool off with a refreshing drink from cocktail hour by the serene reflecting pool and fountain.

Finally, for the first time, Lauren and Zach were introduced as man and wife and the Dylan Mathews Band of Hank Lane kicked off the night with a bang! The transition from cocktail hour to the reception blew the guests away with the gorgeous floral centerpieces, the romantic glow from all the candles and the blend of light pinks and ivories even tied into the 5 tiered cake!

The crowd was lively and by the end of the night they weren’t ready to end the celebration. Fortunately, Zach and Lauren knew their guests well and set up a surprise treat outside for everyone on their way out. They all loved the Wafels & Dinges truck! It was a delicious, personal touch that everyone enjoyed and a memorable conclusion to an extraordinary evening.

It was a pleasure collaborating with everyone involved in this production process. We all worked hard to give Lauren and Zach their dream wedding.

Another flawless day with a beautiful couple and their families.

Mozel Tov!

Backyard Wedding Bliss

Looking for a intimate setting for your wedding day? A backyard can be the perfect location!  It offers a special place for the bride and groom to say “I do” and allows flexibility in an environment you control.

Keep in mind that the amount of people on your guest list will depend on the size of your backyard space as well.  You don’t want your guests to feel confined or restricted.

If you have the room, we suggest you rent an elegant tent so that there is somewhere to go if it begins to rain. You don’t want your guests running to your house for shelter!

Long tables work perfectly for a larger guest list and they really bring everyone together for a traditional, “family style” celebration. We also recommend using the outdoors to your advantage. Use the trees to string up bistro lights to set a romantic ambiance for your guests.

Have a swimming pool? Dress it up with floating candles or flower petals.

Since you saved your money by using your backyard as the wedding venue, consider spending on a fantastic live band and delicious catering. A great party should always have excellent music to dance to and food good enough to ask for seconds.

When it comes time to consider where your wedding will take place, remember that a backyard wedding doesn’t always have to be casual or rustic. Depending on the decor, any theme can be pulled off. With the flexibility of a backyard wedding, you don’t have to add too much because nature serves as a beautiful backdrop.

Beat the Heat With Our Fresh “Watermelon Wedding” Ideas!

Planning for a late summer wedding? Looking for a fun, fresh theme? Well, August 3rd was National Watermelon Day and to stay in the spirit, why not keep cool with a few of our refreshing “melon” ideas!  Pink is a universally flattering color for most to wear so why not have your ladies decked out in subtle pink dresses with funky complimentary green accents or shoes. Does your MOH  really want to stand out? If the color works with her skin tone put her in a crisp green dress and remember, a textured dress is unique and trendy this season. Once the girls are all set it’s time to carry it through to the guys! You could dress the boys up with some polka dot bow ties or pocket squares, or  pink socks for just a touch of fun.

Mix and match these thirst quenching colors throughout your event & for an added personalized touch we suggest creating a signature watermelon themed cocktail.

It’s summer after all and a perfect time to keep it cool, calm and crisp!

A Beautiful Burlap Wedding

Lace, satin, chiffon, and…burlap?  You heard right, burlap may not be a traditional fabric seen in a wedding but burlap details are on trend.  The neutral color works with any color theme, and it creates a DIY feel perfect for a rustic wedding.  Anywhere you would put ribbon or another fabric is a great place to incorporate burlap.  Have fun with it!

Where To Find Inspiration For Your Wedding

Even the most creative people need some assistance when it comes to creating an event.  Ideas and party plans are created once they are inspired by something, and it could be anything!  If you’re stumped on where to start looking for your dream wedding let us help you discover different places to search for that planning mojo.

Fashion

Fashion is an amazing place to look for colors and décor ideas. It’s perfect for trendy brides who want their wedding to be modern and in style.  This season trends include black and white, lace, and bold stripes.  All are perfectly suited for wedding inspirations, plus it’s a perfect excuse for window shopping or taking time to flip through the latest Vogue.

Nature

Pick your favorite season, or most beloved outdoor space and re-create it.  You can choose a winter wonderland, with crystals and a hot cocoa bar.  Think a cozy fall wedding with gold and crisp oranges, reminiscent of the leaves decorating  the ground.
You don’t need a specific season, if colorful peonies fill your imagination have them fill the up the centerpieces.  If an old willow tree makes you want a green and enchanted looking wedding straight out of a story book, go with it!  Nature offers so many gorgeous and creative ideas.

Famous Weddings

If you’re someone who needs more straight-forward wedding like inspiration then how about take a gander at some previous weddings? Celebrity weddings are the best for  this. Do you want a royal affair like the Prince and Duchess of Cambridge or maybe something country like honey boo-boo’s mom June…uhhhh okay we’re hoping you
stick to the first one.  However, that just proves the range of famous weddings you can chose from!

Locations

Hop in your private jet and see the world for inspiration… or for most of our budgets just spin the globe and place your finger.  Cities, towns, countries and even buildings can all serve as perfect inspirations for your dream wedding.  How about a romantic wedding that makes all your guests feel as if they’re strolling the streets of Paris?  Get married at a local vineyard for a Tuscan celebration. Throw a New York City wedding, whether
you can be there or not think the Plaza Hotel, horse drawn carriages, and sophisticated
cocktails.

Art

Take a walk around a museum, a piece of art can inspire your weddings mood, or colors.  Perhaps  a statue of a Greek god makes you want a wedding fit for a goddess, I’m imagining pillars, ivory and lots of marble. If that’s not your style maybe Van Gough’s famous starry night gives you the perfect blue and yellow color theme.

You can find inspiration anyplace anywhere!  Keep your mind open and you’ll be amazed at what you may find.

I Want Candy!

Did you know that June is “National Candy Month”? What better way to celebrate than having a candy themed wedding!? Here we have plenty of ideas that will help you create a candy-wonderland for your guests.

There is always the beloved candy bar where you can fill a table with sweet treats for guests to take home.  This candy bar was at a party by ABE featuring the party girl’s favorite candies!

LOVE this beautiful lollipop accented bouquet for the bride.

Set off the party right by greeting your guests with these lemon drop placement cards.

Have sweets ready to snack and sip on as soon as people sit down.

This candyland theme wedding by Martha Stewert Weddings is elegant and a perfect way to take on the theme without having a candy overload.

Have guests spin their own cotton candy. Delicious and fun!

No wedding would be complete without a cake, continue the theme with a candy decorated confection.

Finally, say your goodbyes in the sweetest way: with some yummy personalized treats.

Your Wedding, Your Way!

Personalizing your wedding is a fun way to give your guests a glimpse into the life you are starting with your new spouse.  Adding little details allows your wedding to be unique while showing everyone who the bride and groom really are.

Share your favorite wine or his favorite beer decorated with a cute saying.

Display maps and pictures of where you met, where you got engaged, and where you are saying “I do”.
Take these home with you after!

Don’t be afraid to include that other special someone in your wedding day…

Send home guests with something special like your favorite cappuccino mix, some candy, or a tasty treat from a local bakery.  Wrap them in a special package.

The Best Escort Cards For Your Wedding

Escort cards don’t have to be the usual plain fold up paper ones.  There are countless ways to add some personality to the way your guests find their seats.  We’ve found a few ideas to inspire you.

Display your cards in a fun and unique way

Give your guests something sweet to drink or eat while finding their seat!

Use elements of nature for a natural rustic look

Have a themed wedding? Don’t forget to incorporate the theme into your cards!

These candles from a recent ABE wedding were not only a beautiful way for guests to find their seats but they lit up the room and were a stunning addition to the event’s decor.

One of our favorite ideas is to give your guests a mini bottle of bubbly for them to pop when you make your grand entrance.
